This is a bathroom remodeling project in Austin Tx that we are currently working on.
This project was originally designed by one of the "Best Interior Designers" in Tx, who had suggested a wainscot in this powder bathroom with some cheap tile that didn't really go with the modern feel of this home. I suggested that we install vein cut limestone in light and dark alternating rows. The homeowners are very into balance. I think this positive / negative look will definitely portray the yin and yang while also using some beautiful material in a minimalist modern look that is not too over the top. Since it is a natural stone it also gives a great energy to the room.
The floor will continue the light and dark alternating squares within squares with mitered corners. I didn't want to start the floor until the drywall company finish skimming the ceiling. This is one of the four bathrooms we are remodeling in this home. We will also post pictures of the Kitchen Remodeling project in this home, once it is under way.
Prior to floating out these walls to the perfection you see pictured here, we had to completely reframe this bathroom because the prior contractor had the walls installed completely out of plumb and square, which would have showed up when we started the stone to the floor in this square pattern.
Stay tuned for more progress pictures of this amazing renovation we are working on in Austin Tx.
